Tick

Repellent

Supplies:

~2oz. (4 Tablespoons) of Carrier Oil: Olive Oil, Fractioned Coconut Oil, or Sweet Almond Oil

~25 drops total of a blend of Young Living Essential Oils (Clove, Oregano, Eucalyptus, Lemongrass, Cedarwood)-You can choose to add all or only a few.

~2 oz Amber Glass Bottle – dark colored container helps the oils last longer.

Recipe:

Measure out 4 TBSPs of your choice of carrier oil
Add 25 drops of a blend of Young Living Essential Oils: Clove, Oregano, Eucalyptus, Lemongrass, Citronella , Cedarwood
Add 1/2 Tsp Witch Hazel

**Shake vigorously before each use!**

Apply on body at open seams such as ankles, wrists, neck, and waist area. I also like to spray some on my head/hat, hair, socks, & shoes (*avoid contact with eyes as the oils are very potent).

As always, follow all the general tick safety guidelines but of course a little extra protection always helps. Reapply every couple of hours.

This recipe is pet safe for dogs. I spray a couple pumps into my hands, rub my hands together, then rub the repellent on my dog's chest, back, belly, legs, and tail. Or douse your dog's collar with the spray (remove collar first).  Do not get the spray in your pet's eyes or mouth.

Note: If you prefer a water base verses an oil base, you can replace carrier oil with distilled water.

Personally I like to double this recipe because we spend a lot of time outdoors so we apply it several times daily. I use half distilled water and half carrier oil in bigger spray bottles (8oz).
